From the leaves of Sansevieria trifasciata Prain ß-sitosterol, ruscogenin (IIIa), neoruscogenin (Ia), and the two new spirostan sapogenins 25S-ruscogenin (IIa)and sansevierigenin (Va)have been isolated and the structures determined by chemical and spectroscopic methods.
