Until now, chemical engineering students had to rely on supplementary materials to augment textbook coverage of polymer science and technology. Addressing the specific needs of chemical engineering students, this comprehensive volume covers basic polymer engineering principies in addition to major polymer chemistry and material topics. In Polymer Science and Technology: Chapters 1-7 cover the fundamentals of polymer science. Chapters 8-10 survey the principal categories of polymers, including commodity thermoplastics and fibers, network polymers, and engineering and specialty polymers. Chapter 11 presents polymer engineering fundamentáis (rheology and transport phenomena) and their application to plastics processing and the commercial production of synthetic polymers.
