Se obtuvo regeneración de plántulas a partir de explantes tomados de inflorescencias inmaduras 1.5 - 2.0 cm.) de Aloe barbadenis Mill. (Sábila), cultivadas en un medio MS modificado. Se estudió la respuesta de algunos factores que podrían ser claves en la obtención de regenerantes, como estado de desarrollo del explante (dentro del mismo tejido), 2,4-D (6 concentracines de 0.0-115.84 µM). En todos los tratamientos donde se obtuvieron regenerantes, éstos procedieron en la región media y midia superior de la inflorescencia, este fenómeno fue dependiente de la concentración de sacarosa y 2,4-D. Con 3 por ciento de sacarosa respondieron 4 tratamientos (2 con 0.11 y 2 con 0.45 µM de 2,4-D). En 6 por ciento de sacarosa únicamente se encontró respuesta en 2 tratamientos (ambos con 1.81 µM de 2,4-D). De los 6 tratamientos la condición de sacarosa al 6 por ciento y 1.81 µM de 2,4-D fue la mejor. Los regeneranes fueron capaces de formar raíces al transferirse a un medio MS modificado con 3 por ciento y 1.81 µM de 2,4-D fue la mejor.
