En el presente trabajo se presenta como objetivo la detección y purificación de los metabolitos activos presentes en la raíz de Chiococca alba. Para la detección de actividad biológica se emplearon los bioensayos de inhibición de tumores en discos de papa, toxicidad contra Artemia salina y antimicrobiano. De esta forma se encontró que la fracción menos polar del extracto de la raíz posee actividad en los bioensayos antimicrobiano y de toxicidad contra Artemia salina, pero no así en el bioensayo de inhibición de tumores en discos de papa. La purificación de los metabolitos se realizó mediante técnicas cromatográficas, lo que permitió el aislamiento de dos productos de tipo alcaloidal, uno de ellos activo en el bioensayo antimicrobiano |
