El hongo Alternaria tagética es el agente causal del tizón temprano en plantas de cempazúchitl (Tagetes erecta). A partir de los filtrados de cultivo de A. tagética se han aislado e identificado una serie de metabolitos estructuralmente relacionados a Zinniol (c), una fitotoxina no específica producida por hongos de la especie Alternaria. Con el objetivo de confirmar las estructuras propuestas para los diferentes productos obtenidos (a-i) actualmente en el departamento de Química Orgánica del Centro de Investigación Científica de Yucatán, A.C. 1-2 se explora la síntesis química de estos derivados utilizando zinniol como materia prima. Debido a la limitada disponibilidad de zinniol, y tomando en cuenta que el esquema de síntesis incluye reacciones empleando el 1,2-dihidroximetilbenceno (2) como compuesto modelo. |
