Las pérdidas económicas que ocasiona M. fijiensis (agente causal de la Sigatoka negra) son de particular interés e importancia para los grandes productores de banano, debido a los métodos de control de la Sigatoka Negra son costosos e ineficientes, y el uso de fungicidas naturales, específicos y biodegradables a la generación de resistencia en plantas, actualmente se consideran opciones para el control de la enfermedad. |
