La micropropagación es una herramienta biotecnológica eficaz para la producción de plantas élite a gran escala. Entre las desventajas que presenta este sistema, al requerirse uniformidad fenotípica entre las plantas, está la variación somaclonal (VS) o variación fenotípica en plantas regeneradas por cultivo in vitro. Se sabe que los reguladores del crecimiento, en particular las auxinas, pueden alterar el metabolismo en los cultivos vegetales provocando una VS. Estudios recientes sugieren la presencia de mecanismos epigenéticos relacionados con la VS. Sin embargo, aún se desconoce cuál es el papel que juegan los reguladores del crecimiento en la metilación de las histonas que pudieran estar involucradas en la VS. Es por ello que en este estudio se pretende determinar si las auxinas utilizadas en la micropropagación de agaves provocan modificaciones en las usinas presentes en la histona H3 en condiciones in vitro que pudieran mantenerse ex vitro. |
