Finalmente se adelantan algunas ideas generales que podrán ser útiles para cambiar la tendencia actual hacia el empobrecimiento del patrimonio cultural de la Ciudad de Progreso. El ensayo se realizó con base en información bibliográfica disponible para el área, concerniente a las condiciones naturales y al desarrollo histórico-social. Se realizaron numerosos recorridos de campo, durante 1985 y 1986, donde se observó y registró algunos parámetros ecológicos. Se contrastaron analíticamente fotografías aéreas, para el período 1946-1983. Finalmente se realizaron entrevistas abiertas con los pobladores, acerca de la problemática ambiental. Este ensayo está dividido en cuatro apartados: - El primero, versa sobre las características ecológicas generales del área, en donde se plantean las condiciones ambientales actuales y las que probablemente existían antes de las fuertes modificaciones humanas. El segundo, está referido a las características actuales de los asentamientos humanos y su desarrollo socio-cultural. En el tercero, se analizan los principales cambios ecológicos y sus posibles causas. Finalmente en el cuarto, se plantean posibles secuelas del deterioro y se discuten algunas posibles soluciones |
