El presente libro es un texto a nivel introductorio de probabilidad y estadística aplicadas para estudiantes de las licenciaturas en Ingeniería y Ciencias que con antelación hayan cursado uno o dos semestres de Cálculo. El enfoque que se ha dado al material permite al lector aprender la metodología y su aplicación, no tanto la teoría matemática que hay detrás de ella, al adentrarse en muchas aplicaciones de la estadística en diversas ramas de la ingeniería; así, todos los ejemplos y ejercicios tienen un contenido ingenieril y en ellos se han empleado datos reales en su mayoría. Por tanto, cada capítulo tiene un extenso conjunto de ejercicios: los que reafirman el conocimiento adquirido, los complementarios y los de comprensión, que a menudo permiten al estudiante ampliar el material o aplicarlo a alguna situación novedosa |
