En este estudio se investigó el sistema de apareamiento de Bixa orellana L. (achiote) bajo diferentes sistemas agrícolas de cultivo de Yucatán, una especie tropical comercializada por su capacidad para producir bixina. Con el fin de evaluar si existe una diferencia en el patrón de apareamiento, veinte familias genéticas compuesta de 10 plantas de la progenie de cada sistema agrícola de cultivo solar, milpa y monocultivo fueron analizados mediante los marcadores moleculares pOlimorfismo amplificado de secuencia relacionada (SRAP). La tasa de entrecruzamiento multilocus (tm) estimada de toda la especie fue 0.841 ±0.024, lo que sugiere que es una especie preferentemente alógama. Este sistema de apareamiento se encontró en los sistemas agrícolas de cultivo milpa y monocultivo basado en los valores estimados de tm (0.943 ±0.034 y 0.870 ±0.041, respectivamente). Sin embargo, la tm estimada en el solar fue 0.678 ±0.061, lo que sugiere un modelo mixto de apareamiento. En el monocultivo, los valores de tm claramente indican que el entrecruzamiento es mayor en el fenotipo de flor rosa sobre el de flor blanca (0.958 ±0.039 y 0.712 ±0.079, respectivamente). Finalmente los resultados obtenidos demuestran el comportamiento del sistema de apareamiento en los diferentes sistemas agrícolas de cultivo y proporcionan valiosa información que pueda contribuirá un programa de mejoramiento genético del achiote más adecuado. |
