El presente trabajo forma parte de un proyecto en donde se pretende definir a los agaves nativos de Yucatán. El estudio de las sapogeninas esteroidales en esta tesis, proporciona conocimientos para colaborar en los estudios quimiotaxonómicos de dos de las variedades del henequén: Yax-Cí y Citam-Cí siendo éstas, las más abundantes en el Estado después del Sac-Cí. Por medio de técnicas de cromatografía de capa fina, cromatografía en columna y cromatografía de gases, fue posible aislar, identificar y cuantificar cinco sapogeninas contenidas en ambas variedades: Tigogenina, Diosgenina, Hecogenina, Gentrogenina y Rocogenina |
