Las plantas producen una gran diversidad de metabolitos secundarios con actividad antimicrobiana, conocidos como fitoprotectores. Las fitoanticipinas o fitoprotectores constitutivos son compuestos preformados involucrados en la defensa de las plantas contra fitopatógenos y una fuente potencial de agentes antimicrobianos. Recientemente se reportó la primera fitoanticipina en Musa acuminata, una saponina esteroidal que inhibe el crecimiento de M. fijiensis. El objetivo de este trabajo consistió en la purificación de fitoanticipinas con actividad antifúngica contra Mycosphaerella fijiensis producidas por Musa acuminata cv. Enano gigante, usando diferentes técnicas cromatográficas de separación (CLV, CCD, CCG y CLAR). Como resultado del proceso de purificación biodirigido, se logró aislar un componente bioactivo y se confirmó la presencia de saponinas esteroidales en una fracción con actividad antifúngica contra M. fijiensis. |
