A study oC pollen grains in species included in or related lo the genera Zygia, Marmaroxylon and Cojooo has revealed the prelieDCe oftwocharacters which are virtually absent in other genera oí the tribe Ingeae. Subsidiary colpi and omamentation limited lo a small surface oC the central polyad grains. 80th characters provide infonnation abau! the generic relationships in the tribe Ingeae and are used to explain the very unusual type oí pollen which occurs only in the genus Zapoteca.
