Tema(s): Recursos en línea: Resumen: Embryological studies indicate that the genus Phormium is not closely allied to the genera of the tribe Hemerocallideae of the Liliaceae where the genus is placed by Engler and Prantl. Furthermore, no close affinities are shown with the Agavaceae (sensu Hutchinson), with the possible exception of Doryanthes. It is probable that both Phormium and Doryanthes should be excluded from the Agavaceae.
