Resumen: By cataloging the entire protein content of a cell, proteomics should not only provide insight into the molecular basis of life, but also accelerate the identification of molecular targets for use in diagnostics and therapeutics. Questions remain, however, as to the capacity of current technology to fulfill these audacious aims.
