This chapter presents four finite element analyses for biodegradable medical devices using COMSOL Multiphysics ® including (a)a three dimensional cube, (b)scaffolds for tissue engineering, (c)fixation screws for orthopaedic surgery and (d)a coronary stent. Step-by-Step tutorials of finite element implementation using COMSOL Multiphysics ® are provided for the first two cases. The finite element analysis skills of simulating biodegradations of bioresorbable devices learnt from these tutorials are applied on the last two analyses. Through these analyses, readers can study correlations of geometric parameters and degradation behaviours for different medical applications which give preliminary guides for developing device design principles. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd.
