A great variety of man's activities on the coast result in metal contamination of the sea. Investigations at three sites, two in Florida and one in Bermuda reveal trace metals in sediments. In all three cases these accumulations can be ascribed to local human activities, though their nature varies widely from one site to another. © 1973.
