Out of 41 compounds separated, 34 were identified by GC and GC/MS. The major components were ?-pinene(20per cent),?-3-carene(16per cent), limonene(12per cent), myrcene(10per cent),?-terpinene(10per cent), camphene (9per cent),?-pinene(8per cent)and ?-phellandrene(8per cent). We believe that its medicinal properties are due to the higher amounts of biologically active compounds like ?-pinene, ?-3-carene and limonene.
