Two new species of Dioscorea, D. carpomaculata and D. sumiderensis, are described from the region encompassed by the Flora Mesoamericana. Geographical and ecological distributions and notes on flowering and fruiting are presented. Relationships and sectional placement are discussed for each species. Based on the information provided by recent collections, one new combination is made, and discussion and specimen citations of noteworthy species are provided.
