Resumen: Supplementing a forthcoming revision of Samyda Jacq., this article accounts for 56 names that are excluded from the genus as now circumscribed. Entries include typifications and taxonomic dispositions, where possible, as well as pertinent synonymy and discussion. Other generic names involved are: (in Flacourtiaceae)Anavinga, Athanaea, Bigelowia, Casearia, Casinga, Clasta, Guidonia, Iroucana, Laetia, Melistaurum, Pitumba, Valentinia and Zuelania; (in Meliaceae)Guarea, Melia and Trichilia; (in Nyctaginaceae)Calpidia and Pisonia.
