An in vitro germination procedure for cherimoya (Annona cherimola Mill.)seeds, cv. 'Fino de Jete', is described. Intact seeds were sterilized and soaked for 24 h and subsequently cultured in the dark at 30 °C, on paper bridges in liquid medium supplemented with 8.67 ?M gibberellic acid. With this procedure, on average more than 80 percent of the seeds germinated after 6 weeks all year round. This protocol is applicable to other cultivars with similar success.
