To workers whose studies require knowledge of the composition of foods and feedingstuffs the monograph by Block and Bolling, "The Amino Acid Composition of Proteins and Foods", has in its two editions been an indispensable book of reference (see Absts. 2885, Vol. 15; 3814, Vol. 23). This handbook is a development of that monograph. Its two main sections are devoted one to a description of methods of analysis of proteins and the other to a table of analytical data from publications, of which most have appeared in the present decade.
