The chemical structures of centellasaponins B, C, and D were determined on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence to be madecassic acid 8-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl(16)-b-D-glu-copyranoside,madasiatic acid 28-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl(14)-b-D-glucopyranosyl(16)-b-D-glucopyra-noside,and 3b,6b,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid 28-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl(14)-b-D-glucopyranosyl-(16)-b-D-glucopyranoside, respectively
