Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS)
- Biotechnology and Plant Breeding: Applications and Approaches for Developing Improved Cultivars, March, p.83-104, 2014 .
Efforts to use genetic markers for genetic improvement research have diverged into two approaches: QTL (. quantitative trait loci)identification and mapping; and marker use in genetic selection programs, through marker-assisted selection (MAS)and genome-wide selection (GWS)or genomic selection (GS). This chapter covers the first approach.
