Micro.Tom enhances resistance to tomato spot disease KW - CITRUS CANKER KW - SAR KW - SWEET ORANGE KW - XANTHOMONAS CITRI KW - XANTHOMONAS VESICATORIA N2 - Citrus canker is a quarantine bacterial disease, caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc). Preventive control strategies developed to mitigate citrus canker include the production of resistant transgenic trees. As citrus transformation protocol takes a long time to produce transgenic lines, the coding sequence (CDS)of CsEDS5 gene was isolated from Citrus sinensis, cloned and transformed into Micro-Tom tomato (MT)plants to investigate its role in the resistance of transgenic plants by the inoculation of X. vesicatoria (Xv). We also functionally characterized the CsEDS5 gene and reported that several EDS5 MT transformed events were more resistant to Xv UR - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1typYTAYF4qdNKzwuxf7-1WMuj58PWrfi/view?usp=drivesdk ER -
