Transgenic hairy roots of Catharanthus roseus were established with glucocorticoid inducible tryptophan decarboxylase (TDC)expression alone or in combination with inducible expression of a feedback-resistant anthranilate synthase alpha subunit (AS)from Arabidopsis.
