Recursos en línea: Resumen: A chemically defined 71V medium was designed in accordance with data from studies of NH4+ and N03- requirements for biomass production of carrot cell suspension culture (CA-68 line). Under the described conditions, the optimum ratio of NH4+:N03- was 20:80, and the optimum total nitrogen level was about 500 ~ n gN per liter of medium. The observed changes in pH of the different inorganic media d ~ ~ rtihe~ g~rogw th of the cult~~mreig ht be an important factor influencing the nitrogen nletabolism of the cells.
