520 3 _aCathodic sensitive group (CSG)connected to a conducting polybithiophene by a p-conjugated spacer has been designed to study the conduction through the unsaturated spacer. By comparison with the electrochemical behaviour of the saturated spacer analogue, the cyclic voltammetry shows that, when the electronic communication is ensured, the CSG becomes reducible at the same potential than that of conducting matrix. This suggests that the electrons injected in the conducting polymer, CP, during the n-doping process can promote the CSG reduction. A n-doping catalytic process is evoked to explain this electron transfer mediated reduction. Furthermore, an electrocleavable group used as CSG, allows the access to a wide range of organic materials suitable for electrochemically controlled delivery systems.
