The relationship between glycoalkaloids and resistance to the white potato cyst nematode, Globodera pallida in potato clones derived from Solanum vernei

No relationship was found between the degree of resistance to Globodera pallida and total glycoalkaloid content of the roots or tubers of a number of potato clones derived,from Solanum vernei x S. tuberosum. Nematode infestation of the roots did not lead to increases in the glycoalkaloid content of susceptible or resistant potatoes.
